I'm currently an English Master's student in NTU. Before that, I was a marketing intern at Charlotte Puxley Flowers, RSP Architects, Planners & Engineers and KampungKakis. Way before that, I'm an English undergraduate from NTU. There, I did 2 URECA research projects (the first on Aravind Adiga's The White Tiger and the second on Peter Orlovsky's poems) and a final year project on John Steinbeck's East of Eden and The Grapes of Wrath.
Now all that's out of the way. Let's get to the fun stuff!
My MA thesis is about American road narratives and resistance, as in I want to see how people's experiences on the road emboldens them to push back against capitalism and hope for a more empathetic future. I want to explore how these narratives of resistance play out in The Grapes of Wrath, On the Road and Blue Highways.
Apart from academia, I also like to draw and write on my blog. For drawing, I like drawing lots of nature, like think trees, bushes, flowers and the ocassional animal, because I find it aesthetically pleasing.My writing isn't as formal, in contrast. I just like to write whatever's in my head. Thoughts, fan fiction, whatever I feel, really. It's not passion, but rather a brain worm I need to get out there.
I listen to K-Pop. My favs are WayV, ATEEZ, Red Velvet, ONEWE, AESPA and Fromis_9.I also like anime! I like One Piece, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Hetalia and Persona 3-5. I want to watch Gintama, Bleach and HunterXHunter next! Essentially, I want to catch up on Shounen animes.
